Psoas Stretch Kneeling

This is a great stretch to do to help relieve hip and back pain - the psoas muscle group.

Kneel on your right side with your left leg out in front of your chest, and your left foot planted on the floor and pointing forward. Raise both arms over your head with palms together. Lean your body forward until you feel a stretch in the front of the your right hip and upper thigh. Hold for 20 seconds, then switch sides.

Note: This stretch can also be done with arms relaxed at your sides. The arms up version gives a better stretch and improves posture. Keep hands over head, palms together. Reach as high as you can and stay tall with a straight spine.
