Video Text - Tuna Tartare


TUNA TARTAR

Serves 6-8 (appetizer portions)

• 1# Sashimi Grade Tuna Steak
• 1/4 cup Italian parsley, minced
• 2 TBSP red onion
• 1 Hard boiled egg, shredded (optional)

For Tuna Tartar Sauce:
• 1 cup ketchup
• 1/4 cup Kejap Manis (or 2 tsp soy sauce + 2 tsp honey)
• 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
• 2 TBSP Dijon mustard
• 3 TBSP Sriracha Hot sauce, or favorite hot sauce
• 1 TBSP + 1 tsp curry powder
• 1 TBSP + 1 tsp cumin
• Fresh lemon juice of 3 lemons
• 1/4 cup + 1 TBSP Yogurt, whole milk
• Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

With a very sharp knife, carefully mince tuna and transfer to a cold bowl. Add parsley, onion and hard boiled egg. Refrigerate until everything is completed. For sauce, combine all the ingredients and mix thoroughly. Spoon some of the sauce onto tuna (you will have more sauce than is needed), until wet.

Serve tuna tartar in cold bowl with whole-wheat crackers or chips.
