Video Text - Chin-Ups from the Smith Machine
The name of this exercise is called chin-ups from the smith machine. For those people who can’t do a chin up because it involves a lot of upper body strength, this is a good option to use.
I’m here with my client Mark and he’s going to perform the exercise while I’ll explain it. From a reverse plank position, he’s going to take an underhanded grip which is the easiest version. And he’s going to chin-up to the bar.
Now, when this exercise gets a little easier (come down, Mark), then the next progression is to lower the bar; the hands and body stay in the same position and then perform the chin up. Good.
This exercise works your entire back area - the lats, rhomboids, traps and even the rear deltoids. And also your core area.
My name is Maurie Cofman and I can be reached at 314-517-1565.
